What are Customs Headers?

The customs headers are the overview of what's in the package and who it came from. These are required fields.

Why are Default Customs headers Useful?

Default Customs Headers are useful for customers who ship internationally using consistent customs information. Setting the Default Customs Headers helps to increase throughput, because the customs information won't need to be entered manually.

Default Customs Line-item Info

Default customs lines refer to what's inside the package. These are required fields. They are used to auto-fill product information in the customs section on the order.

If enabled and populated, customs line-item fields will be filled in automatically. This is useful if the host system doesn't pass one of the required customs fields, and the information is the same for all products.

You would not want to use default customs lines if you are shipping many products with differing information.

For example: If you are shipping items that have a value of 5 dollars, and items that have a value of 500 dollars, you would not want to set a default customs line "value" to 500. This would cause the value of all products to be auto-populated as 500.
